Premiere Coming Soon!

The Jewish Theatre in Warsaw invites you to a unique premiere of a play for a young audience – "Invisible Fairy Tales. Based on 'Stories for Children' by Isaac Bashevis Singer" directed by Paweł Paszta.

This is a poetic, tender, and imaginative journey into the world created by one of the most important Jewish writer of the 20th century – Yitzchok Bashevis Singer.

Although Yitzchok Bashevis Singer is widely known today as a Nobel Prize winner and author of outstanding novels for adults, throughout his life he also created children's literature with extraordinary passion. He wanted young audience to experience Jewish folklore, folk wisdom, and the magic of storytelling as naturally as they experience the Brothers Grimm's fairy tales. In his stories, humor intertwines with thrills, kindness with mischief, and the ordinary with a touch of charm. It is from this lesser-known, children's part of Singer's work that our play grows.

"Invisible Fairy Tales" transports viewers to a colorful world filled with extraordinary characters – honest fools, clever spirits, witches, singing leaves, and heroes guided by folk wisdom. All is immersed in the warm atmosphere of stories told by the fire, the scent of freshly baked cake, and the glow of a Hanukkah lamp.

The play's protagonists are blind children who tell and experience stories born from their dreams. Here, images aren't the starting point – they appear only at the end, leaving room for the viewer's imagination. This is a story about the power of fantasy, about how closed eyes can open doors to the most beautiful worlds.

"Invisible Fairy Tales" is an invitation to a world where story pulsates like a living organism, and imagination becomes the viewer's most important tool.

The performance is enriched by songs and music performed live by cellist Aleksandra Monkiewicz.
