Roksana Vikaluk / fot. Mikołaj Starzyński

Roksana Vikaluk

Born in in Tarnopol, Ukraine, Roksana Vikaluk terminated a senior high music school (classic piano) and enrolled for private vocal classes. From 1992-1994, she performed as a soloist in the NICZLAWA jazz club. She arrived in Poland in 1994 and started cooperating with Józef Skrzek and his SSB band. From 1999 to 2002, she studied jazz singing at the post high school jazz college in Warsaw under the supervision of Ewa Bem. Additionally, Ms. Vikaluk studied composing and arranging at the jazz and entertainment music department of the Academy of Music in Katowice (presently the Jazz Institute), supervised by Prof. A. Zubek. In 2000, she founded her own MIZRAH band, which plays Ukrainian, Gypsy, Russian, Jewish and Polish songs. She has cooperated with Rampa and Praga Warsaw Theaters.
